The Cut-Up for Comedy Central
While working at Whalerock Industries, our design team was tasked with creating an app for Comedy Central that would incentivize comedians to retain a relationship with Comedy Central once they move on from the network. In order to incentivize everyone to use the app, the app has 3 versions. The first version is for the network executives, which contains a robust set of analytical tools that helps the network be the first to know which comedians are trending and what content is the most popular. The second version is for the comedians, and it allows them to create content, sell ticket, post merchandize, and interact with their fans. The third version is for the fans; it includes a social feed, live streaming, and comedian hubs that keep the user in the know and in contact with their favorite comedians. Although the app may sound complex, the functionality is actually fairly simple and intuitive for each of the versions from a UX perspective. My version of the app was ultimately presented to the executives at Viacom and was chosen to move forward to the prototype stage.
